The ‘Knot Violence Box Campaign’ not only brings the Knotted Gun symbol closer to our main target audience - youth - but also allows young people and communities to interact with our objective of non-violence and peace. The Knot Violence Box contains everything that a school or sports club needs to deliver a violence prevention and peace education module. It includes a one meter fiberglass replica of the Knotted Gun symbol and a multimedia resource comprising training instructions and selected Get the Point education programmes.

The 'Knot Violence Box Campaign' is offered to schools, sports clubs and cities around the world. Students, teachers, coaches and sports club members are challenged to give their interpretation of the Symbol and what it communicates. The campaign is guided by the ‘Knot Violence Creativity Programme’, a fun and engaging initiative that allows young people to give the replica sculpture a unique look and develop grassroots violence prevention initiatives of their own.

The sculpture can be painted or decorated into a strong reminder of what a society without violence could look like. Replica sculptures from each participating school or sports club will remain in their respective location as a daily reminder of a united commitment to non-violence and peace. Participating schools and sports clubs from all over the world will be represented on www.knotviolence.org, enabling and creating a global community unified by the symbol against violence.

The Knot Violence Box Campaign was initiated in Portsmouth, England, where Portsmouth Football Club and local schools collaborated on a six week violence prevention and creativity programme, resulting in a replica that was unique and relevant to the participants. The results of this pilot have been very encouraging and the initiative was featured on the BBC’s iconic ‘Match of the Day’ television football programme, as well as in articles in the Times and the Sun newspapers.
